Multiple robots control via single PC

#1

Hi there,

We have two MG400 in our lab and are trying to control them with a single PC through python. Would like to know if there is any tutorial for this bit.

Many thanks,
Bourne

Hi Hans,

Thanks for your reply.

We appreciate the link you shared but it doesn’t help much since we’ve already successfully connected to both of the MG400s, instead the things discussed in Multiple MG400 on 10.x.x.x network issues is exactly what we’d like to implement.

We’ve set the IP adresses of two MG400s with 192.168.2.6 and 192.168.2.7, and met the same problem that there is a conflict when we pinged these two MG400 at the same time. We’ve also confirmed they share the same MAC address, which we think is the key problem here.

We didn’t take a risk to burn the new MAC address into the MG400 since Will (the user from the aforementioned link) said he could not connect to his MG400 after doing this.

We’d like to know if you have any specific suggestions on this bit.

Best,
Bourne and Nathan

Hi Bourme,

We have tested that we can use the MAC modification tool in that post to modify the MAC address of the machine, and the problem can be solved after modification. If necessary, you can contact us by email at support@dobot.cc

Best regards,
Hans

Was this issue resolved, where you able to run 2 bots from one PC?

#9

The problem has been resolved by remote control

Can you explain a bit more how this feature is used? Or where I can find an explanation/tutorial?

I there any update on this? I am having trouble using the mac_burn software. It doesn’t seem to change the mac addresses.
