600,000+ arm movements and motor 4 now has error

#1

Our MG400 has been running in a production manufacturing environment for a few months and has been working great. It just began throwing two errors however and has become unusable.

102 - Joint4 drive Alarm
29568 - Encoder connection error

This looks to correspond with the motor on the end of the arm. Our current production routine does not use motor 4 at all, but it does pickup a item from a very low point and raise it higher repeatedly. It throws the error when the arm reaches for the low point and It seems like this may be causing wire strain or fatigue. If we move the arm up and restart the dobot and software, we can use the arm in other manual motions. It only errors when it reaches low so it seems like an electrical connection problem within this certain range of movement.

Can you please advise on troubleshooting this issue? Is there a way to turn off Joint 4 as we are not using it currently?
